My Order
How can I cancel my order?
Once an order is in production it cannot be cancelled as every item is made to order.
Do I have to order online?
Yes, all orders must be placed online. If you have a problem placing your order online for any reason, please contact us on orders@doccotton.com.
Do you have the product in stock?
No because at Doc Cotton we take sustainability seriously, while there will always be some waste, we aim to work as close to zero waste as possible. Therefore, all items are only created once an order is placed.
What does made to order mean?
Unlike traditional fashion brands that produce quantities of items to hold in stock, we do not work that way. We are a sustainable fashion brand that is trying to produce as little waste as possible. Therefore, each item is only produced when it is ordered. We are very proud that all our garments and homewares are created individually from scratch in our workroom based in the beautiful Suffolk countryside. To learn more about the process please see our Production page. To learn more about the process please see our Production page.
Do you gift wrap?
All Doc Cotton orders are delivered already gift-wrapped in beautiful, printed tissue paper, inside a recycled box with branded sustainable labels.
To protect the delivery during shipping all items are sent out in a fully compostable mailer bag.
If you would like to send a personal message with an item, please include this in your order and we will make sure a beautiful handwritten postcard is placed in the box.
If you would like a gift receipt added (that does not show the price), please include this in your order request.
If you would like something extra special email orders@doccotton.com (please include your order number in the subject field) and we will do our best to accommodate your wishes.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
We do not offer gift vouchers at present.
Product
How do I care for my product?
All items should be washed at 30 degrees and line dried, do not tumble dry, do not use bleach. You will need to iron the items to maintain shape and fit. A steam iron produces best results but is not essential. For further information see the care labels attached to each garment.
What fabrics do you use?
Our menswear is made from 100% cotton poplin.
Our womenswear is created from 100% bamboo silk.
Our homeware (including the aprons) is in a heavier weight linen mix (95% cotton, 5% linen).
None of our fabrics are organic as the printing process used means that the fabric would no longer be classed as organic. However, all the fabrics are sustainably and ethically sourced and all printing inks are water soluble offering minimal effect on the environment.
The Doc Cotton team are passionate about sourcing the most sustainable and ethical fabrics to create our garments and homewares and will be adding more options with future collections.
What printing process do you use?
We use a process called sublimation printing using water soluble reactive dyes.
Why do my products colours vary slightly?
Each item has been made individually to order. There is no mass production, therefore each product is unique. As with all handmade items, colour tones may vary slightly. We are a sustainable fashion brand that tries to produce as little waste as possible, therefore at Doc Cotton we embrace these slight colour variations and imperfections as they all add to the individuality and uniqueness of each item produced.
